Starting this simple blog to record some win/loss stats and some basic info for Issaquah noon hoops. (Mon-Wed-Fri only) Geezers not allowed.
Theoretically, guys who are awesome win most of their games based on their own talent/skill level. For instance, Anthony and James win most of their games regardless of their teammates. Guys who are not so good (uh-oh, Zach) don't win most of their games for the converse reason.
Thus, I would theorize, that in the very, very, very long run, your personal win/loss percentage as compared to others would be a strong statement for your relative skill level compared to the group. Anything can happen any day or any week, but after hundreds of games, since we all have random teammates and opponents each game, the overall order of our winning percentages would represent the overall order of our abilities. It's a nice theory, so I'm gonna check it out.
Now we all know that TK, Jack and Ray aren't at the bottom of the talent pool from Friday, and one day doesn't mean anything. I believe it'll take many hundreds of games for the talent to start to line up accordingly. In the mean time, everyone can check out their personal W-L for the hell of it.
I have more stats I'll be tracking like how many show up for each day and actual W-L records for entire teams of 4. I'll post those when the data is more significant. Here's what the teams stuff looks like...
